About Spare Time Wood Design.
SpareTime Wood Design is a small family run internet only business that we run from our home located in a small town in Southern Louisiana. I always wanted to be my own boss doing something I am passionate about. My husband and I enjoy building pet beds and wooden toys for our family, friends and donating them and thought why not sell them everyone that has seen them likes them. We also love decorating our home in the country primitive style had difficulties finding any primitive stores in our area that carry such items. When we did get lucky and find a place that sold stuff we liked, sadly it was often very over-priced and/or of low quality. I was already into crafting and sold some of my handcrafted items a few local consignment shops and thought wouldn't it be neat if I could put my creations on a website and get more exposure.
While I was researching the starting of my own website I visited an area shop that had a lot of things I really liked but couldn't afford and it hit me...I should open my own shop and offer the items I love at an affordable price. Over the next few months I located some great vendors who had great products to offer on my website. I offically opened my website in April of 2017 with the mission to offer our customers the best in handcrafted wood furniture and primitive home decor while keeping our prices reasonable.
